Role of the BJUI Company

The BJU International Company oversees publication of the Journal and appoints the Editor and his editorial team.

Members of the Executive Committee are drawn from registered medical practitioners in active clinical practice in the UK and the European mainland.

The Executive Director is Nicola Quinnen. She has day-to-day responsibility for the company's business and financial affairs and for the management of its charitable activities.

Objectives

The objectives of the charity are:

 

  • The advancement and improvement of education in urology
  • The dissemination of knowledge of new and improved methods of teaching and practising urology in all its branches.

The charity funds and supports scholarships, travelling fellowships, lectureships, educational and training courses throughout the world, particularly in developing countries.

It also funds and supports the educational activities of the BJUI, notably its educational supplements.

The British Urological Foundation

The BJU International Company has been a major supporter of BUF since its inception. Following an initial capital grant of £150,000, the Company has provided annual donations of between £50,000 and £100,000 for research and training.
